Residential chain link that doesn’t look industrial
Black vinyl-coated fabric with black posts and rails nearly disappears against a lawn and trees, and it resists corrosion better than bare galvanized. For privacy, add slats or plant a hedge along it.
Built to spec
- Line posts spaced no more than 10 ft apart; heavier terminal posts at ends, corners and gates.
- Top rail with a bottom tension wire so the fabric stays tight and pets can’t push under.
- Posts set in concrete below frost depth.
- Walk gates and 10–12 ft double drive gates.
Commercial chain link
Taller security fencing, privacy slats, barbed-wire arms where zoning allows, and dumpster enclosures. See commercial fencing.
Local notes for Pottstown & the Perkiomen Valley
- Heads up in Berks County: Amity Township requires chain link to be screened from neighbors with a planted buffer. Douglass Township (Berks) only allows chain link with landscaping that hides it from neighbors and the street. We’ll price the fence with that in mind.
- On farm and hobby-farm properties, welded wire on split rail or wood posts is often a better fit than chain link.
Typical installed cost
| Fence | Installed price range |
|---|---|
| Chain link (4 ft, galvanized or black vinyl-coated) | $30–$45 per ft |
Per linear foot, residential, before gates, removal and permit fees. How pricing works.
